Comprehension Skill: Point of View

  • Point of view is what a narrator thinks about other characters or events in a story

  • To find the narrator's point of view, look for details that show the narrator's thoughts.

Vocabulary Strategy: Prefixes

  • A prefix is a word part added to the beginning of a word

  • A prefix changes the word's meaning.

  • Examples: un-, non-, and im- mean "not" or "opposite of" pre- means "before"
